Picture Perfect (Cont)
Maybe, just maybe, upon your return We can travel across the blue, cold ocean Where the salt compliments the sunset at the edge With the pearl from the oyster and grain of sand Perhaps then we can climb to the mountaintop Passing along the way, a snowman with a carrot nose and stick arms Its top hat and striped scarf bringing out its raisin smile Next we could travel through the forest, looking out for big foot on our way To the log cabin made of fallen trees Surrounding it, my garden of wild flowers that may never grow In the rich soil and daily drops of water Together we can open the jar of sunshine I kept by my bedside and release its warm rays Later at night we can float up to the sky on the white fluffy cloud And plant the piece of moon, putting the star on top The one with the edges and points In the morning we will find the nights before rain Forming a rainbow above our log cabin, surrounded by wild flowers Growing from the jar of sunshine which is held up by the white fluffy floating cloud That took us to the sky to plant the piece of moon And the star with edges and points Where we could look down upon the snowman with a carrot nose and stick arms Agreeing with his raisin smile, acknowledging the creation of beauty from an oyster and a grain of sand And together make the colors The colors that do not fade But simply rest and close their eyes September 16, 2009
