Unfortunately the phenomenon of time kicks in and one ages in the process. Many cultures have given reverence and honor to those who have paid the price of time, enduring it's ravaging effects. These elderly have become a wealth of wisdom and maturity that could be mined by the young or inexperienced. There is no longer any such scenario in the United States at large. If one could live a lie and get away with it, remain illusioned and seemingly free, the world would exist as it now does, in self begotten misery. The youth desire respect and more age, certainly not maturity. Elders desire youth and to be sage, without the incongruity. Many want what is not really theirs. Those fortunates who don't covet, have already climbed those stairs. The juveniles want to be confident and older. The elders want their youth. The time grows shorter, stronger and bolder. The illusioned want the Truth. To even desire to know Truth is a Grace, an unquenchable, addicting, compelling Holy Thirst, It'll set you free when it's in your face, but it will make you damned mad first. The youth desire respect and more age, certainly not maturity. Elders desire youth and to be sage, without the incongruity. If I had the power to give either their wish, I would grant it to the elders, to the mature ones, and tell the all knowing youth....to go fish.
