You Should Know
She steps out into the world A world that does not know about her Looking at her-she is positive- Optimistic about the future Inside- Falling apart Her smile can hide anything Isn’t it something- The same pool of red that brings us Pain and fear Only brings her relief You should know, She does not want to hate herself She does not want to feel this way She does not want- Anything at all! She lives in a world A world that she knows nothing about Yet she is positive-optimistic still Inside- Screaming Screaming to be heard by those she hears She helps those who hurt- Sometimes themselves If only, she would take her own advice Only-if she would! But- Something’s are easier said than done How easy it is to destroy oneself How easy? You should know, She wants to destroy nothing- Especially herself You should know, She does not want to do this She does not want to drown Or float along into- Nothing! She reads her words to the world Words, in third person So no one will decipher the meaning No one will know the message She-will remain concealed Remain hidden underneath herself Like rain- Sweat pours down her face And her hands are shaky Through the compliments she knows, Her eyes cannot hide the truth But with her glasses, her eyes are covered Yet her nerves can take over She wants to be happy She wants to feel good She does not want to hurt And wants to stop the tears She wants no more dark She wants sunshine- To grow She wants flowers to make up her thoughts Not images of dirt She wants to be better She wants to feel her hair in the wind Wind- She does not want it to blow her away You should know, She does not want to be like this anymore You should know! You should know! You should know… This is how it all began! November 24, 2009
