My Own Prison
A bare concrete floor, a cage made of steel, secrets trapped inside, no lock, no key, just layer upon layer of the things I feel. Hatred and shame, anger and pain, all locked away untill the layers are peeled, for my sin there is no appeal. Hurt and fear, jealousy and rage, these are the things inside the cage, locked away until the day when I start a brand new page. I see my life as a book, but I'm too scared to take a look, at what I might find on the hook. There is a beginning, middle, and end, but alot of things I can't comprehend. The end is not written, I still must go on, writing through every twist and bend. It's been a long journey, one hell of a trek, but I've made it along every twist and every bend, there's a long way to go, even though I may be wary of the last step. By: Derrick Frank
