Winter
Winter is now showing. You can tell it by the falling snow. Its flowing down from the sky. All through the air. The wild wind is blowing it. The fluffy white stuff is piling up high. But look here comes a snow plow. Pushing it to the side no matter how high. It keeps plowing right on by. Looking out the window. I see kids playing. Their building snowmen. While enjoying natures gift of snow. Because theres no school today. I also see the winter birds. Their flocking to the feeders. To feast on sunflower seeds. They will take shelter nearby. In an old pine tree. In the distance on the hillside. I see deer pawing the ground. Their trying to find acorns beneath the snow. To fill their bellies to help keep them warm against the cold winters air. Up in the sky geese are flying by. In their V shape formation headed south. Where they will face winter without any snow. I finish my evening after a day of watching natures beauty. I gather in firewood to last threw the night. I sit down by the fireplace I cover up with my throw. While sipping on hot cocoa waiting for the cold wind to blow. It was really cold and snowy that winter. I watched everyday for a sign of spring. As I gathered my firewood. I heard a noise. I looked to the sky an seen geese fly by. I stepped where the snow had melted there it was a sprig of green grass growing.Even though I had cabin fever. I done a little jig. Because I knew winter would soon be over. Spring is starting to show. There was a few more snows. But it melted away it didn't stay long. Winter gave way. Replaced by spring. That's when the cold wind quit blowing and the warm wind started flowing. The sky turned blue. With the sun rising slowly. Taking away the last sign of winter. Till fall gives way to winter.
