Unraveling and Reweaving
During this time of agents and robotic helpers, we yearn for personification. We crave them to recognize who we are, what we desire, even to know our favorite ice cream flavors. We want these tools to simplify our daily activities. Giving us quick, personalized responses, while avoid boring repetition. We want our agents to reflect our deepest longings. They should have a profound understanding of us. They should see our cravings, and share our joys and desires before we even utter a word. They need to capture our essence in a very personal way. Yet beware! The peril lies in the unwinding, loosening the threads of our original weave. We surrender our intricate nature to achieve these quick solutions, which smooths out the layers and bumps that made us unique. It transforms us into neat, rewoven efficient silhouettes. It saves time and effort, by giving us what we think we want. But it also hides the beauty of our own complexities. It is palatable and acceptable, yet lacks the rich nuances held in our original threads and the artistry of how we were woven. Our beliefs, needs, and truths risk being oversimplified. Stripping away the context, emotion and experiences that color our existence. In truth, we are and should be, evolving beings, developing, learning and growing, not simplified convenient precises of ourselves. With the unraveling and reweaving by machines our evolution stops.
