Stage 4 silence
Diagnosis:stage 4 silence Treatment:a kinder world (one where racism doesn't exist) Cure:unknown Lifespan:1-5 years, if that Symptoms: ? a silenced voice ? being black ? loss of control over body autonomy ? racism ? microaggressions ? discrimination ? stolen childhood ? stolen innocence The cancerous silence had spread through her body She had tried to tell the doctors and nurses They called her dramatic With each dismissal It grew more aggressive More violent 'It's probably just anxiety' It had sneaked its way into her bloodstream It was beginning to be seen It's screams fell on deaf ears 'Stop making everything about race' It had moved to her stomach Corrupting her digestive system They had played it down to stress They said maybe you should rest With each microaggression Each racist remark It grew stronger More powerful More deadly Until She collapsed In the hospital they couldn't ignore What happened to this girl They say next time we will listen But we all know they haven't learned their lesson That begs the question Of what will happen to the health care system Will they be punished Or will she just be an unfortunate lesson they'll never learn Will she forever remain a forgotten victim Where a place that is supposed to help kills still exists Why isn't anything being done about it?
