Emergency
Polly Pleasance was seven years old, like the decade soon is going; She had so many pretty dollies, like deep purple pansies, showing. Polly took care of her dear friends, for love's always taken seriously; Buying doll clothes with her allowance, like night, adorned deliriously! They were admired, and the envy of friends. She had so many dolls! As magenta shimmers in twilit moonlight, whilst blue earth revolves. Polly still believed in fairytales and magic, like many others her age; And like optimistic, hopeful springtime, when red liles are the rage! Fair flocks took flight, like fuchsia sun, after days of fun with friends, In fresh, first weeks of mosaic summer, and flowers of many blends. The future fenced with scented past, in fading hours of family visits, That ended in freshen up sunrise flights, and sorrowing last minutes. Polly lived in the house of many loves, each adding sunshine to days; Like glimpsing a redbird in the treetops, just before he flies far away. Turquoise summer skies caused sensation, like red boats on teal seas, On a street of surf and starlit views, of opal darkness, starring peace. Neighbors bore smiles of mandarin noon, and flavorful noodle dishes, When visiting with news of nuptials, new births, dreams and wishes. 'Tower of jewels' bloomed but once, sparkling for hummingbird delight; When 'tie die clematises' bore flower children, who danced in starlight. 'Pretty pink fan' flowers were chilling, at the end of 'purple kings' rule, As 'amethyst hues allium' was adored, like scarlet sunset's sky jewels. One day Polly's doll was accidentally ripped, and she was very upset; For its tummy was torn. Help was needed! But, Mom said not to fret. Their doctor friend was already invited to dinner, but Mom called again. When she explained the situation, he brought his bag, to end the pain! Polly's doll received stitches, rest and a sugar pill. Her smile returned. It was worth extra effort, like moon and violet stars, hastily adjourned! 'Miss Polly had a dolly who was sick, sick, sick. So she phoned for the doctor to come quick, quick, quick. The doctor came with his bag and his hat, And knocked at the door with a rat-a-tat-tat. He looked at the dolly and shook his head, And said "Miss Polly put her straight to bed. He wrote a paper for a pill, pill, pill. I'll be back in the morning with the bill, bill, bill.'
