You don’t want them to argue with you? You don’t want them to (Oh-no-here’s-the-big-one-how-dare-they-right?) Disrespect you? Then don’t yell at them. Don’t argue with them. Do not disrespect them. Don’t get into some pride-busting vagaries Of when disrespectful behavior May or may not have occurred. Use a muscle you may or may not have, Embody the example of how to behave. Change will occur. Change will start. Simply cuz you broke the behavior chain of: Them reinforcing your inappropriate behavior, You reinforcing their inappropriate behavior, Yelling, arguing, power struggles into the hills… But I’m not gonna end my poem there.
