Lost at sea
our beautiful balloon, about to burst an endless journey suddenly meets its end our faults forced us to tango photographs torn, shattered glass in the open our roads split in two, our bridges broke to let our ships sail toward different oceans winter flakes now drop cold summer shines now warm spring rains chilled, and the garden is littered with fallen autumn leaves silence now echoes your shouts— your footsteps climbing the stairs sing only in dreams all our arguments, our fights, our happiness, our love~ all whisper like the silent blow of leaves in my memories the sky now holds a single star in its vastness the desert just a single tree in its emptiness and there are only echoes in hollow canyons divorce should not have been the medicine for our ailing love it brought only an allergy born of a rotten apple time may heal wounds, but it cannot restore our lost love— especially when the winds are strong and the swim against the tide is weak and the river flows in the wrong direction ours is now a shattered mirror locked behind a door on a ship lost at sea
