You’ve Got Your Hands Full
If you think my hands are full, you should see my heart. The wrangling in of these three boys can be the hardest part. I’m quite outnumbered everywhere we go, by the looks on their faces, we can really put on a show. Is it sympathy or annoyance, sometimes it’s hard to tell; at times it makes me want to crawl back into my shell. Some people are very helpful, others very rude; some offer loving advice, others don’t intrude. “You sure do have your hands full”, I hear this loud and clear, are they being critical, or trying to be sincere. Sometimes it’s “oh how sweet”, sometimes it’s “bless your heart”, either way I’m usually thinking how quickly can I depart. There’s meltdowns out in public, other times go well; sometimes I can hold my temper, other times I yell. Taking three boys out in public, I have to be real brave; disasters can happen quickly, they come on like a tidal wave. It takes some mental preparation, a lot of patience and prayers; but I wouldn’t change it for the world, nothing else compares. So all the looks and all the comments, I’ll brush them off my shoulder; their opinions are not my burden to bear, they’re not the title holder. If you think my hands are full, you should see my heart; I wouldn’t change my life right now, not a single part.
