Forgotten Dreams
As a kid, I saw myself a hero, In my youth, a leader, driven and bold, With my team ahead, that was my story told. Adulthood came, and dreams grew small, A stable life, just like they say to all. But then the burnout, the crash, the fall, Lost my way, my drive, losing it all. Alone, online, seeking some peace, In a virtual world, where struggles cease. But as the years began to weigh, I saw the dreams I let slip away. Don't walk my path, please, I implore, A life of regret, that's what's in store. The world is vast, our roles seem small, Yet even a nobody can stand tall. I'll push on now, I won't give in, Chasing my dreams, let the journey begin. Age is but a number, that’s the truth, I’ll become who I want in my second youth. Rest easy, friend, I pray, Your words light up my way, A gift of wisdom, your final, gentle song, I’ll carry on, where I’ve belonged all along
