A Wish Upon A Star - Video Lyrics by Michael Tor - POTD
POTD 24TH Feb 2025 A Wish Upon A Star – Video Lyrics by Michael Tor DESCRIPTION A romantic ballad of longing and serendipity, captures the emotions of a lonely soldier in “Wish Upon A Star” as he wanders around, looking for a place to spend New Year’s Eve. On returning from deployment, he’d received a ‘Dear John’ letter from his girl saying she had found another. Broken heartedly, he gazes at a shooting star in the night sky and sends out a fervent wish. Follow his journey in this cinematic, musical experience of a soulful mix of Country Soul and R&B, perfect for romantic dancing and nostalgic nights. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT Our deepest thanks to Michael Tor, who you all know as a great poet and a wonderful person, for inviting us to put his emotive, poetic Ballard to music and create a Music Video. Our sincere thanks to Michael, who generously refused to publish it on his page, being adamant that it should go on my page first. At long last here it is, I trust it was worth the wait and we apologize for the delay. You can say thanks to Michael by commenting on this page, I’ m sure he will answer you too. You may also comment on my YouTube channel by clicking on the YouTube symbol on the video. In fact, on my YouTube channel comments, you will find one of the first comments from FreddyMax, an ex-serviceman and also an awesome creator and writer with whom this resonate. ‘He commented that this exact situation happened to him on a New Year’s Day in the past’. You can see him on my YouTube channel under @FreddyMaxOfficial. we feel this will resonate with many as it did with him. Thank you for your enormous support Michael, and to your followers. Thank you for watching. UNCANNY HAPPENINGS While generating the main character for the video, I repeatedly attempted to create an older man to match the singer’s voice. Yet the computer and software stubbornly refused. No matter how many times I tried, it kept generating the same younger man instead. To put this into perspective, one of the biggest challenges in-generated imagery is maintaining consistency—ensuring the person looks the same across every clip. Strangely, while it flawlessly recreated the younger man in each scene, it simply wouldn't generate the older version of the man. Another puzzling aspect is that I sent Michael two songs featuring the older singer’s voice in different genres, so he and his wife could choose one. However, Michael later mentioned that they liked the third song. The issue is that only two songs were sent! The third version, which suited the scene perfectly, was a surprise to him, as he wasn't aware of it. He says he received 4 versions in all - we are at a loss as to how that happened? It gets better - We had no choice but to generate a new song with a younger voice to match the character that the generator insisted on creating. Was it uncanny? Absolutely. This wasn’t the first time something like this happened. During our Tribute to Kerwin Rae, it wouldn’t accept our avatar of an Eagle having a mind of its own a phoenix kept popping up instead. When we resisted the entire system crashed until we relented. Much later his mother tearfully thanked us profusely for using his favorite logo, (which we had no clue of) ‘The Phoenix rising from the ashes’. Were these instances messages from The Quantum Realm? Is this weird or what? You be the judge! LYRICS Oh! shooting star so far above, I'm wishing you to bring me love If you choose to not grant this wish, I'll settle for a stranger’s kiss Dear John, I really, really hate to write this… The Holidays approaching near, My heart grows fonder, every year. It's New Year’s Eve, I'm all alone, In a club, wearing cheap cologne. Someday I'll know these dreams come true, It is my love, when I find you. It's you I've waited for all my life. Never once loosing hope in spite, This lonely heart I pray survives. Oh! shooting star, please make things right. I know you're out there, hear these words. We'll dance real close and afterwards, I'll thank the stars that brought me you, And fix this lonely heart, I knew. Oh! shooting star so far above. I'm wishing you to bring me love. Now that you granted my one wish, I'll settle for my new Loves Kiss. Oh! shooting star from far above, I thank you, for bringing me love...
