Weakness
This place looks so familiar. I’ve climbed these walls before. It isn’t deja-vu just a deep sense of foreboding. As I wander through this dream I know the monster ‘round the corner. It is me! It is me! And there’s no place to hide… I see it in the mirror to my shame. But I know I’m the only one to blame. It isn’t lack of faith, it isn’t bad intention. It’s just a lack of strength. It’s just me. Shadows swirling all around me. Spirits of forbidden fruits. I don’t want to drink it down, it’s too intoxicating. And the wounds are there before me. No bandages can hide the blood. It is me! It is me! Chewed up and spit out… I feel it wrap around me, pull me down. But it seems I can’t make a single sound. It isn’t lack of faith. It isn’t bad intention. It’s just a lack of strength. It’s just me. And I’m sorry, so sorry. But I can’t seem to do it this time. A foe I cannot seem to conquer. A weakness hidden in my mind. This place is so familiar. I recognize the door. It isn’t deja-vu. I’ve been here many times before. With just a peek through the keyhole I see it staring back at me. It is me! It is me! And the demon slowly grins. I see it in the mirror pull me down. And I know I won’t make a single sound. It isn’t lack of faith. It isn’t bad intention. It’s just a lack of strength. It’s just me.
