am i too much of a woman for you or are you not man enough for me?
is everyone thinking in black and white? do they even see gray? does a difference in anatomy limit the emotion somebody can convey? is it the way i can use the left side of my brain to pick apart others’ ideas all while i cry and i bleed? does emotion and rationality together not exist in a space between crazy and worry-free? does the sound of emotion burn all the pages of wise-minded comments i spoke? do emotions undermine all the facts that i know? does caring for the rights of others than myself cause me to have a savior complex and be laughed at for being “fake woke”? you choose to look the other way because it doesn’t affect you it’s called privilege you have to speak out on issues and be empathetic and use your privilege but if you speak out too much then you’re a false savior who altruistically strategically and performatively speaks and doesn’t need to more you need to be aware of everything that goes on in the world and do your research when it comes to politics but when you talk about the research you’ve done you’re too political and not fun to be around you can’t be quiet about your opinions otherwise you’re fake and not human enough but you can’t be too loud and outspoken about them otherwise you’ll stop receiving invitations and be labeled “too much” does their knowledge make you aware of what you’re lacking? does their lack of words on the subject make you assume they won’t understand the baggage you’re unpacking? do their small words mean they should be belittled and shot down? do their big words mean they are pretentious and are no longer wanted around? does it make you uncomfortable that i know things i choose not to share? does it make you uncomfortable when i speak about the weight other people bear? am i not human enough because i choose to be silent? or are you not human enough because you’re not somebody i can confide in.
