Justified
You got your gun there on your hip. You got your tin star pinned there on your vest. You got your hat pulled way down low Yet your heart beats fast there in your chest. Because before you stands the man And your hand is slippery with sweat And the time for talk is gone And you know one chance is all you’ll get… So, draw fast and shoot straight Some might call it suicide But he is lost who hesitates So, try to put your fear aside It doesn’t matter when you’re sure your justified. If you had the time to think You might wonder how it came to this A dusty road, an open sky A prayer to heaven, please just let him miss. But you must put aside all doubt Try to focus ‘til he’s all you see. And as his hand begins to twitch The moment stretches to eternity… So, draw fast and shoot straight Some might call it suicide But he is lost who hesitates So, try to put your fear aside It doesn’t matter when you’re sure your justified. In the end a man will fall And if it makes you proud then it’s a shame. For if you choose to wear the gun Then your story, too, will end the same. It might all bring you a thrill, The badge and gun, the endless quest, But the danger lies in this: When you are certain you alone are best! So, draw fast and shoot straight Some might call it suicide But he is lost who hesitates So, try to put your fear aside It doesn’t matter when you’re sure your justified.
