Meaning no more tears being shed, no more having to fight battles that portrayed death. And college finals that finally had reached an end. As the Christmas spirit fill up neighborhoods and schools, this year felt lonelier than it should. No Santa Claus, no Saint Nick, just nothing but coal for the ones that were sick. And what do you say to ones that have no home, that doesn’t have a family to call their own. Do you scream and shout in merrily manner or do you join them in silent laughters? ‘Twas the night before Christmas where kids are tempted to catch Santa Claus. Where they leave the milk and cookies only for those to be devoured by my mom. And the bright lights that hang on the Christmas tree, bringing nothing but ecstatic and gleam; what do you say to those that don’t know what Christmas means. To them it brings heartache and sadness not joy and things. The ones that have to cover their ears to block out the world, the screaming, the shouting, maybe even a few tears. Is Christmas really beautiful, is it enchanting? Does it really bring happiness that’s everlasting? Indeed little one, it does. As I sit here and tell this story, my thoughts end with this dragged out soliloquy.. where you see how Christmas could be lonely and gleaming. So all through this house, as the holidays approach, listen to me when I say.. I understood why the Grinch stole Christmas this time around.
