Soma Ria
Ria, where should I begin...? Perhaps now's the time to give in; As a maker of verse within, All beauty writhes in chagrin - My words fail, wearing thin, To release flowing thoughts and ways That hold the boundless spin I keep for you, your special days, As my humble pen Bows in its shame. Ria, I would have given my heart On silver, quiet at your door, For you to set apart When darkness draws you toward Their space where shadows dart, Wanting only to devour Your heavenly art - to tear apart, Making your petals shower An endless void Of scarlet scores. Ria, I watch the glowing night; You've skillfully sealed in painted dreams, With you, flying at heights, Wrapped in starlit beams... As I think in my plight, How the stars' bright gleams That shape your soul so bright Stand against the streams Of this harsh nightmare You named "living." Yet Ria, time has taken flight - My love comes far too late; Still, my core trembles at your sight, Too pure for Earth to state. Ria, 'twas worth the fight, Though your light fades from fate; But Ria, I'll always write, As I quietly wait The perpetual dance Of dusk's estate... -
