The Vatican walls threw back the echoes of Sodomy, rape, paedophilia, and financial crime. Last night, a voice of a nun was heard shouting," i took the vows to serve the needs of society, and not your feelings Fr. Bob, "she complained. A voice of priest Gustavo was heard in the middle of the night, Gustavo asked," Is my finding of liberation theology in Vain?" Why should the church be a passive Observer of evil in the world today? Francis of Assisi lamented the loss of genuine sympathy from the top church leadership for the wars and poverty victims around the world. Mother Teresa asked the pop, "Why do we have dubious financial dealings in the church when our followers live in abject poverty?" The children could be seen around the vatican city walls carrying bitter memories of sodomy, rape, and paedophilia. One little girl asked,"If men and women in the robes can be thieves of our hope and dignity, who will save us?" Saint Peter could be seen standing on the Pope's window weeping and gnashing his teeth,"you have contaminated the spiritual atmosphere, he cried!" Who will save the church from hypocrisy and mediocracy? The voices of the saints echoes from the Vatican city walls. By Chanda Katonga.
