Amazed by lightning and Starman
As a young kid, watching monsoon rains was fun, Sometimes enjoy the rain and get wet, sometimes run paper boats till they drown in the deluge, Never thinking of thunder and lightning, till parents warned. On one such ominous occasion, When dark clouds were raining with lightning flashes, One fell and hit a lamp post right across the street, Some people fainted; I got an electrical shock in my hands. The rains were over soon, clouds parted, The night descended, the stars came out in a hazy night, I saw a Starman inviting me to come and join, I ran to meet him, but he grew farther and farther away. The Starman, cloaked in cosmic mist, His gaze was both warm and ancient, bold, I can only hear his voice, like rain on a thirsty earth, of what we lose, of what draws near. “I bring you light that memories save, from worlds beyond your sight and reach. You cling to time as it slips by, but miss its depths in all you seek. The stars you wish on, yes, they burn like beating hearts, slow like a song. Be gentle with each passing day; even small kindnesses grow strong. For every thought you send above, each choice, each hope, each tender love, they spin their threads across the night, your touch on stars—a lasting light.”
