In the darkness of my room, I tell myself to swallow sadness like a venom
In the darkness of my room, I tell myself to swallow sadness like a venom, but my body is a vessel, an amphora for all of it, the rage, the grief, the longing, they sit in my throat, unmoving, and I think maybe I am not meant to be happy all the time, maybe my heart is built to carry the burden of sorrow, like my mother before me, like her mother before her. Why should I lie about the heaviness I feel, when it's the only thing that has ever truly been mine? In the silence of the night, I hear echoes of old stories, the inherited burden like a treasure forgotten in time, and I wonder why I should banish what defines me. Sadness flows through my veins like a quiet and deep river, a river that knows all the secrets of the forests it has passed through, and in every tear, I feel the story of a generation, a continuity of pain, but also of survival, and deep in my soul, I realize there is beauty, in carrying this weight, in transforming it into understanding, in accepting it as part of me, a pillar of my existence. And perhaps continuous happiness is not the key, but acceptance, embracing all the shadows that dance in the pale light of memories, like the dance of leaves under the autumn wind, melancholic, yet full of life, full of truth.
