Whispers in the Attic
In a house perched high on the edge of a hill, Where shadows waltz with the whispers of will, A tale unfolds of eerie delight, As the darkness encroaches, consuming the light. Once lived a girl, with laughter so bright, Her spirit, a beacon, took flight in the night. She danced with the moon and sang with the stars, Little did she know she'd meet ghastly scars. One stormy eve, beneath clouds drawn tight, She heard a soft calling that chilled her with fright. From the attic above, the voice beckoned near, "Come play with me, darling; I'm waiting right here." With heart pounding hard, she crept up the stairs, Each step held the weight of her nascent despair. The door creaked a secret, the atmosphere thick, A shiver ran down her spine, like a flickering wick. Inside, dusty remnants of past lives and dreams, Where shadows of sorrow danced in moonbeams. In the corner, a figure, pale as a ghost, Stood silent and still, like a forgotten host. "Who are you?" she whimpered, her voice barely a breath, "I used to live here, but I've known death." "Why do you linger in this hollow space? Have you come for my laughter, to steal my grace?" "I weep for the years, the joy once so pure, I long for a friend, for love to endure. Repeat my name thrice, and we can unite, Leave behind your world, join me in the night." With curiosity piqued and dread intertwined, She whispered the name, though she wished to rewind. "Liora, Liora, Liora," echoed the sound, And the air thickened, darkness unbound. Suddenly, the room spun with a fearsome twirl, The walls breathed memories of Liora's cruel world. "You're mine now," the specter shrieked in delight, "No more will you dance; forever you'll fright." The girl felt her spirit entwined and ensnared, The thrilling adventures turned harrowing and scared. She fought and she struggled, her voice raised in plea, But the bridge had been crossed; she'd never be free. Now in the attic, where shadows do play, Her laughter is silenced, lingered far away. At night, if you wander, if the vortex comes near, You may hear her soft voice, whispering in fear. "Beware the attic, my friend, take heed, For Liora's got company; she's hungry with greed. She dances with shadows, she traps hearts in plight, And if you call her name, you'll join her tonight." So heed well this warning of the girl lost in time, For lustrous laughter may turn into grime. In a house atop a hill, where spirits invoke, The bond of a ghost may shatter your cloak.
