slip n slides morning sickness and cabbage patch kids summer of 1985
My only niece Lonnie created sheer joy for me especially after i gave birth to two daughters Lonnie was indeed the boss of playtime visiting every summer being she was few years older than my girls she was very excited the summer of 1985 i was at least six months pregnant wearing wires buying weapons for the FBI they warned me Ciro Gargano and my abusive husband set a blaze killing 8 elderly persons the tie that bind our families soon resulted in 9 his wife was furious already dating his business partner fireman gene after Ciro Gargano was finally in prison on weapons and drugs charges it wasn't long his daughter Sicily set a fire in a trash can this resulted in my baby sitting his girls keeping them safe along with my name sake my niece my two daughters Sicily actually wished she was black also my godchild a downstairs neighbour’s the girls loved playing with cabbage patch kids Punky Bruster begging me to put braids and beads in their hair they were scared because their father Ciro was now doing 25 to life never got a chance to bring them the oranges from Florida no one knew I was actually wearing wires pregnant for the FBI keeping them all safe moonlighting because his horrid crimes his wife believed we had this grand romance what did she really know anyway she ranted and raved while the kids and i we went to parks playgrounds library it worked out only because my niece spent time with Sicily at her mom's Lisa playing water games slip n slides we were this twisted dysfunctional family while I kelp my cover for the FBI I was really sick with morning sickness Lisa accused me of having her husbands child go figure that this resulted in my abusive ex husband tormenting me during my pregnancy she hated me she was a mob wife bitter angry her husband was doing time in the slammer Lisa took the girls to the drive-in oddly to watch the color purple it was Sicily and Lonnie late birthday outing they turned 9 summer of 1985 she was born one day before Lonnie so they celebrated together like twins born spring of 77 lately I see the numbers 77 reminds me of that summer Sicily and my niece Lonnie saw the color purple with Ciro's wife Lisa slip n slides cabbage patch kids for me severe morning sickness vomiting cutting green peppers making rice for Dina Bina and my girls and braiding hair my girls had very long soft hair i would braid their hair faithfully every week and put colorful beads on them Sicily and Dina begged me to braid their hair I managed through morning sickness 5 months pregnant baby sitting through it all my niece still says that was the best summer ever the year of the cabbage patch kids and slip n slides
