Mascara
It has come to this hasn’t it? Faded memories of who we used to be I remember crying over thoughts such as “I’ve lost him” and “I’ll never see him again” Black lines would trace my face and wear my eyelashes limp Sometimes it would take so long to scrub the black trails off There’s a time and a place where every man should never wonder A part of the mind should be shutdown in case of an emergency Just because some things that are said are never meant to be true Yes I still have the pictures and the notes from back then But so do you And there is a time when every girl must grow up and learn to live without makeup Because it either gets cried away or smeared from hands wiping away tears So either way it is ruined Maybe what was meant to be is no longer meant to be Or maybe it wasn’t at all in the first place Inside I’m not really all that upset about it because it’s kind of true what they say If you let it go and it comes back it’s meant to be Well I let you go and years later you did come back just the same But then you left again If you’ll fly back this time, I don’t know But if your wings break, don’t worry about finding a way to soar In a sense I guess I’m trying to say It’s a good thing I don’t wear mascara anymore
