In the whispers of the abyssal night, enveloped by the ocean of my ever-deepening emotions
In the whispers of the abyssal night, enveloped by the ocean of my ever-deepening emotions, Here I stand again, submerged in the sea of ancestral pains, choosing to ignore and numb a life of torment. My memories are crashing waves, each shattering me into fragments, Threatening to reveal truths I cannot bear, another layer of trauma added, The newest one breaking me, for this is my norm. How can you forget to breathe? I scream and shout to the gods, why don't you take me? Always swimming in these waters, back and forth, I live the cruelest persecutions of life, I know no other way. The torment of feelings macerates me, my thoughts deepen and impregnate this waking nightmare that is my state of being. I long to close my eyes and fall into eternal sleep, for when I sleep, I do not think. Every time I wake up, I sink deeper. The weight of everyday life, like a crushing barotrauma, In the vast abyss of death, I ask my soul to keep me, deeper into the void. A slave to fate. She laughs at me, here I find myself. With rolling eyes, she asks, "Are you afraid of death? " "Yes, " I reply, and again I wake. For years I lived in that abyssal layer. But one day something changed. I looked around at the water trying to surround me and saw a drifting wood floating nearby. I swam towards it and was no longer drowning. I braced myself for the next waves, but they did not come. Now, on a liferaft I have built, I feel I know how to break these waves. Years of storms, I know how to pass through them. The warmth of my inner smile begins to burn, Igniting my soul, so brave, I look at the shore in the distance and there I head. The mockery of fate is heard through gusts and explosions, roaring in the heavens: "Are you afraid of death? " "No, " I whisper. I am not afraid of storms, my soul knows the way. Because I have survived them all, and I will continue to do so, in my own unique way.
