When I Break
Author Dana Redricks April 10, 2024 When I break, I break, there's only so much a woman can take. When I walk out the door you won't be seeing me no more. Like Humpty Dumpty sitting on a wall when I fall you won't be able to put me back together again. In the face of pain, resilience takes its stand, a woman's strength, a force that won't disband. When shattered, like glass on the floor, she'll rise, stronger than before. Echoes of strife, a past left behind, through storms endured, a new self to find. With each step taken, a path to create, alone but unbroken, I'll navigate my fate. Soaring high, beyond the past's cry, in solitude's embrace, she'll learn to fly. No more shadows to bind or restrain, her spirit untamed, ready to take my place to reign.
