Slow Burn
Burnt sienna waves, laughing – pleasant days, Full of light, seas infused with hope, Soft sounds of roaring peace, still and cool, Falling like stars who have mastered the art of reflecting, The joy in twinkling, glistening in the skies, Wishing these dreams weren’t passing them by, Dreams passing by… Toasted brown eyes, pupils black as charred thoughts, Beckoning to the virgin colors, Sapphire hues and melancholic wishes, blowing, Like the leaves in autumn, soundless As the scent of a promise, Forever sending its rhythmic trembling, Soaring, quivering, echoing in the spirit… Kentucky woman, where did you come from? Haunting your eyes, vibrant details Miracles, soft alibis, reasons for prayers that remember, The graves of yesterday, the whispers, sandbox Images of a graceful that agrees with forever, Where she realizes she’s his breathe, his grief – His night and his day, his never ending grace, Forever on his face,… Burnt sienna folding in sprays, beneath the seas, Heartbreak, loneliness, the ache Where she once lived, his faith – his will Wondering, lonely – will she be back again? Will she come back to him? Kentucky trickling in from yesterday, Where she broke his night between moon, Stars and thrills… Yesterday, where is she? Will she never come back to him? Kentucky woman, bleeding heartbreak, Through his dream, through his feelings, Through his endless journey through an ache That lasts forever… heartbreak, Where is she? Where is she? … letting go Can come so slow, like watching a plant grow… Endless ache, so slow, so slow.
