Quiet Now
You sit there rocking, no more people talking, drifting with the wind across the grain. It’s peaceful like you planned it. No one make’s demands it’s quiet now and every day’s the same. It’s a shame that something pure and free, became a ball and chain tied to misery. Like an island separate from the land, the waters made you miss the life you planned. So you sit there rocking, the voices that once talked to you have all… withered away. Was it the hardness or something in your veins that never let hold the things you own? Just like you sip black coffee but hate the taste, you block the world away but hate to be alone. Such a shame that something meant to be, blinded you to what you could have seen. Now you know what you were looking for was just a winding road toward a closing door. So sit there rocking with no more people talking, drifting with the grain... whichever way the wind blows.
