I have sat and contemplated, entire galaxies of thoughts have enveloped my being
I have sat and contemplated, entire galaxies of thoughts have enveloped my being, And maybe it is time for me to withdraw, to whisper in the evening's hush: "Let me slip through your fingers." Too much have I poured from the wine of my longing at a table where the other never knew how to appreciate the flavor. It's not abandonment, it's a reverence for my soul, an acknowledgment of my own essence. Love should be a two-way street, but tending towards one, only breaks me more. To persist in a monologue, to keep my heart open for someone who doesn't return my song, Is to wither my inner flowers in vain, without any hope of fruits. The treasure of my love, glowing and pure, in word and deed, Deserved to fly freely towards a soul that feels its worth and gives it an echo. Letting them lose me might be the passport to the star awaiting my serenades, And to someone who will love me with open horizons, with the grandeur of grateful constellations. Perhaps the question will settle, like twilight over unreverted days: will they ever know what they lost? Will they feel the void left by my absence, or will they move forward undeterred, unknowing of their loss? In the end, the stars will speak at midnight, and time, both judge and cure, Will be the one to erase my question in the wind, while I dance towards new fulfilled horizons.
