Devil in the City of Angels
We’re at the same bar But we’re not saying a word to each other We have the same mindset But we’d never say a word to each other And old memories crumble Into cracks of the same champagne bottle But we know all the stolen glances Make up for the lost time And lost words that never made it They make up for the secrets we shared to other people That morphed into empty air A million hours later And only a million ways to say You need to change your life Before terrible actions change it for you Thank god I never picked up that call Cause the devil was on the other line Begging for a wake up call A million hours later And only a million ways to say You need to change your life Before terrible actions change it for you I can’t spin this sentence anymore Only a million ways to tell you You’re falling apart right in front of me And I can’t leave you or I seem like the criminal No one thought to suspect But if I stay, I become more broken every day Trying to glue the pieces of a glass vase back together But they’ve been bashed so many times, Nothing fits anymore And the fading of the colors Makes it unrecognizable But I still love it It’s my favorite thing I’ve ever had to myself I found it on my own And nourished it on my own But is it time to move along Now that I'm fully grown? Why have two broken things When you could only have one?
