Who are We At Our Core
Who are we at our core? Is it possible for us to know? Is it a place where we can grow? In the deepest portals of our hearts, metaphorically deeper than the deepest sea, where none but God can see; At this holy place, best described as our core, there is a small door that barely opens and closes, revealing both thorns and roses, private things both old and new, but only to a select one or few. Indeed, it is declared a holy human place because therein is a place of which none but God and I have a right; indeed, a place of our darkest nights; a place where myriads of emotions, some of which are mixed, are given birth and often express themselves needing neither our control nor our permission. Grief, for example, comes to mind, tossing us about at any given time. The best me lives there 24/7, and the worst me hides there around the clock. Mother Teresa inspires us all to rise above. Both Hitler and I are mortals from the same substance, and although I and most never aspire to be like him, yet at our core, we are capable, because at the core, our hearts are deceitful and wicked no matter how we dress it up with good intentions and good deeds. Only after an invasion from above by God, giving us a new heart, can there ever be transformation at our core. Such a place of sacred privacy, never for public view, is totally confidential and mostly held with complete trust. Apart from this limited understanding of our core, my answer to the most challenging question of, "Who are we at our core?", would be, 'I don't really know'. 122123PS
