Replenished
As I walk through the woods, I see darkness within. Down by my feet is a discarded Dragon skin. A Dragon whose body has grown to larger frame, But the forest grows smaller and stays not the same. The woodland has weakened from an ongoing drought, And ferns, blackened and wilting, now fail to sprout Webs in high branches seem like white funeral shrouds, Whose insects emerge to fly in big, crazy clouds. Hungry, the Dragon left in search of some fodder, And thirsty, he needed a cool drink of water. Alas, he came to a river, so clear and deep, And thoughts into his head were beginning to creep. So building a ditch with his tail's mighty thrash, Water pours to the woods in the life-giving wash. The next thing he does is his greatest desire. The Dragon clears out the webs with gusts of his fire.
