Baby Shoes Unused
His tiny baby shoes, as yet unused, sitting solemnly upon the bed, Petite little pair that he never donned, the sum of a mother’s dread. A sweet blessing from God, a bundle of love, and hopeful dreams, But, life would take a devastatingly agonizing turn, or so it seems. The sky-blue nursery, one time bustling with overjoyed anticipation, Now stands useless, empty, devoid of laughter, in quiet desolation. His binky, cradle, and toys, all untouched by tiny precious hands, Now, tokens in a world where dreams, don’t always go as planned. But hope springs eternal, and lost dreams may, at last, be found a new, When tiny baby shoes, as yet unused, are seen from a heavenly view. Life here on this earth is a journey, with many of its detours and turns, And if sometimes she’s faced with heartache, a mother quietly yearns. But, in her sorrowful cocoon of silence, there lies an uncommon grace, God’s divine will and His gentle reminders of life’s unpredictable race. Indeed, his tiny shoes shall remain unused; he will not return to them, But, with God’s approval and infinite love, one day, she can go to him.
