My heart wants relief, but the shadows are playing. Again I kneel down and sincerely start praying. Again this sad aching soul, its path looks ahead Recall my youth, fairy tale promises I was fed But mind and intelligence defeats not the dark I am now an ancient tree stripped of its bark Yet here I sit, quite desperate and so alone Wandering this darkness, how must I now atone. My heart wants relief, but the shadows are playing. Again I kneel down and sincerely start praying. My true love looks on just behind the purple veil Body exist here in pain, just a sadden shell Agony and weeping are my companions As I struggle here in torturous dark canyons Yet here I sit, quite desperate and so alone Wandering this darkness, how must I now atone. My heart wants relief, but the shadows are playing. Again I kneel down and sincerely start praying. Robert J. Lindley, 6-07-2022 Rhyme ( Trying to navigate through the dark )
