Tears That Never Learn
Love has always been an elusive, unattainable feeling, and yet, its absence is like a gaping wound in need of healing; a hurt that continues to burn. Lust is a concept that you are intimately acquainted with, lauded by every silver-tongued Romeo and clever wordsmith; as for love, they spoke out of turn. You fantasize about being in love and what it must feel like, some say it's magic, while others compare it to a lightning strike; love's given, not something you earn. From an early age, you've understood pain, hate, fear, and rejection, but you were never exposed to genuine love or affection; and that is a cause for concern. Destiny has chosen a hurting heart; time has broken and worn, never to know how it feels to be loved; for you were cursed when born; to weep the tears that never learn.
