Story Poem
A girl named Mouse There once was a girl named mouse, She ran away from her parents house. No place to call home It is on the streets she will roam, Found shelter at the park, On new adventures she will embark. She thumbed a ride to the local mall, Grabbed some clothes and headed to the stall. With her new dudes in hand, She took up the lay of the land. Others she knew Were looking to make a living too. On the street corner she will remain Until the day's wages she has maintained. Her next trick tried to save her, It was a cop undercover. She knew her stuff, So she called his bluff. Life on the streets has made her so much smarter. If she wants to get out of it, she will have to work harder. This is no way to make a living, People on the streets take what is not given. Final trick showed up flowers in hand, This is no place for you, let me be your man. His face was kind and his eyes smiled, No explanation required. A brighter future he foretold, He wanted to take her into the safety of his fold. As she listened to his plan, Her excitement and anticipation began. He asked for her hand in marriage, Popped open the wine, and offered a beverage. As she drank, she knew this was right, It was love at first sight. She is no longer a lady of the night.
