The trees transform to transfixed fossils, like my longing the dry leaves will wilt to fall, and I wait, it’s not time yet. The horizon of hope turns into an opaque wall, draped by the dark cloud of despair. The thunder of agony shatters my gloomy sky, but from the debris of distress I will rise, and I wait, it’s not time yet. I stand sad beneath a twirling tree, try to take shelter under the canopy of rhapsody, morph into a leaf to drift in the beguiled breeze, that will carry me to you, and I wait, it’s not time yet. In the dreamy dawn of the splendored spring, you run on the flowery garden pathway. Embellished by heavenly chromatic charisma, you will become for me a fascinating fairy, and I wait, it’s not time yet. Your fleeting feet scatter the silver dust, as you float in the mesmeric moonbeam, that will cascade on the visage of your smile, sparkle for me with the sheen of stellar glow, and I wait, it’s not time yet. In the rejuvenated sapling of the spring, I hear in the rustle of the sprouting leaves, the whisper of rapture from yonder, the yearning bud will soon bloom in my heart, and I wait, it’s not time yet. __________________ April 5, 2023 Word chosen : Yet Contest : Writing Challenge - "Y" Words Sponsored by : Constance La France
