I Want More
The April rabbit wanted to be more than just the Easter Bunny. It makes me feel dour and sad, not optimistic, upbeat or sunny. It’s a title for Saturday and Sunday only, he said to people. They forget all about me when they enter the church with the steeple. What else can you do? His relatives asked him, truly not knowing. I think I could play a mean sax, he said, and this is not simply crowing. They encouraged him in his endeavors, and he played musical notes. He was fulfilled now, even though his audience was lambs, sheep and goats. I want to play at church he told the world. Wouldn’t that be a fine thing? That sounds great said an old ram, and I could accompany you for I sing. I play my hooves well on the ground, said a donkey with a kick. This little homemade band enjoyed pouring self compliments on thick.
