Death of a Loved One
Ten years ago, my cousin died, He was too young to go, We all were sad, oh how we cried! But in our hearts, we know, His soul lives on in heaven sweet, We will see him one day, Yes, he'll be there when Christ we meet, Welcoming us to stay. We do not grieve his life or soul, We grieve his shortened time, If death had not taken its toll, He would have lived his prime, Yet, we accept God's will to darn his tapestry with death, With His purpose, He weaved his yarn till his very last breath, Our grief is intertwined with hope, Knitted with strong belief, Some day, we'll see him laugh, not mope, and that gives us relief. God's design is unclear in parts, One day, we'll understand, he's missed, but lives on in our hearts, till we reach Heaven's strand. 30th March 2023 For US' contest
