They came from miles away Just to see him perform. Not your usual Elvis, no, Nowhere near the norm. In spite of the jump suit And top range black wig Nothing could disguise A complexion like a fig. And when it came to height He couldn’t be called tall. In fact to tell the truth He was under 5ft feet tall. In truth I suppose he could Just have got away with that If only he hadn’t been So obscenely fat; But up there on the stage He gave it all his heart Threw himself fully Into his performing art. He couldn’t dance He couldn’t sing But mixed jeers and cheer Made those halls ring. He gave his all Every time he sang; He was Eddie the Eagle Of the tribute gang. He’s out there somewhere.
