Embraces
Do you remember the days when handshakes were standard? Hugs and embraces were reserved for 'that something special'. Although I am not aware of such, I suspect there has been some study about 'the embrace's rise'. There has to be an explanation. Anyway, about the embrace and my relationship and experience with it: There is an embrace that never leaves a trace. There is another embrace that can never be erased. There is an embrace that greets you and says hello. There is another that heals when you are feeling low. I once experienced an embrace that held me tight in Toledo. There were many more that held me ever so warmly in Sacramento. When life beats you up and leaves you weary, lonely, and cold, God provides hugs and embraces for the healing of our souls. 031823PSCtest, A SIMPLE POETRY CONTEST. John Lawless
