Wrath of Zeus
The Greek gods were egotistic, arrogant, jealous, Said to be excellent lovers, fanatics, and zealous About everything and anything, lounged around Adorning places like Marathona, the Acropolis The Parthenon. Archaeology Maintains that Greek Mythology Goes back to the Bronze age, A long ago historical stage. Statues have been discovered, displayed Or maintained of Zeus, the Mythological god. Imagine if mythology was true, As Pandora is loosely referred to as Eve in these studies, And the great flood to Noah’s Ark era and the flood, But we know that is not so, and that for Christianity, Christ spilled his blood. This story will engage with a very famous myth, The mythological Zeus, Prometheus And the beautiful goddess Pandora, Not one related to Zeus who thought that Pandora was an unnatural abomination, Towards whom he felt no love or consideration. Prometheus whom Zeus once loved, Was about to be severely punished, For Prometheus stole fire from Zeus and Gave it to mankind, what a silly man, If he only knew this action would damn Him, for he brought out the wrath in Zeus, This misdemeanor, certainly not okay. For eternity Prometheus was chained To a rock, high on a hill, so that birds Could eat his liver every day, And at night it would grow again, So the birds could come back, And have a daily snack. Zeus was a vengeful god, he wanted Revenge and brought havoc onto man On Earth, in the form of a woman. Zeus puts Hephaestus to the task Who mixes water and earth and molds a Woman, good gracious me, How awful, a woman, Who will bring woe to man, Her name, Pandora, Beware, soon to come will be horror. Many gods grant her gifts, beauty and The ability to weave, to name only two, Hermes teaches her to lie, Be deceitful, What was to happen. Pandora goes against the Wishes of Zeus, what a pity She now had to face the nitty gritty. Zeus knew that she could not be loyal, So he so gave her a jar, As a gift, for her name meant, all gifted, Which was full of unimaginable things, She was not to open this jar Zeus warned, But Pandora got curious about the jar, Deceitfully opens it, which Zeus knew she would do. Immediately horrors stormed Out, which hissed And a pungent odour emerged, Which cursed The world with strife, For the rest of mankind’s life. Pestilence, floods, earthquakes, Hatred, death, and plagues, All that was left. However, Zeus made sure that it kept Hope, for foundation Can be built on hope, The hapless were in trouble, As hope is the antithesis of taking action, Hope is not grounded in reality Could bring about devastating finality. But Pandora knew, hope was still in the box, She would give succor to the world, To the hapless would extend, A hand, For hope could be evil or planned, It was no blessing, but expounded To be incongruous with livelihood on This planet, and that it brought sheer Misery, toil and trouble To man, sorry to burst your bubble, Pandora was no saint, Certainly not classed as faint Hearted, she was evi,l deceitful, sly, Beautiful, certainly no goodness met the eye! And so it came to pass that she hurt Life on Earth, but her time was coming. She is said to have died by selflessly sacrificing Her life to save the god Kratos who had lashed Out at Zeus, so she fell into the flame of Olympus, Which must have been agonizing. Others say she drowned in the great flood, Yet others say that one of the evils in Pandora's box, was mortality, And so she died from natural causes, As did all of humanity. And Mythology, well it died With the great flood, To which it succumbed. ,
