I like art in its profound beauty. Be it a simple pencil sketch or an elaborate painting, art evokes emotions in me. Maybe it is because I can't create it. Maybe it's simply because I love how one can depict a thousand feelings in one picture. creators of art portray myriad feelings ~ life's blank canvas filled I encouraged my talented students to draw and paint. As a result, some have won competitions and still continue to use art as a medium to express themselves. One of my students used to paint on glass. It takes imagination and presciseness to do so, I must say. For there is absolutely no room for mistake. She gifted me a beautiful glass painting of Mickey Mouse and I still cherish it very much. shy mickey mouse etched smiling bashfully at me ~ heart is elated Another one of my students is very shy. She doesn't talk much, but her drawings speak for her. She excels in them - portraits, nature paintings, religious art and everything else. I have her a gentle push, when she was in my class and today, she has blossomed into a fine artist. Last year, she gifted me one of her awesome paintings, and I was really touched. Jesus, the shepherd carries a lamb in his arms ~ precious child of His These gifts of love showcase the talent of my students. And gratify my love for art. They depict that teaching is not just about sharing knowledge, but also kindling the hidden talents in others. I hold them close to my heart, for they mean a lot to me. painted memories kindle the fire of my soul ~ contented delight 21st February 2023 For "It means a lot to me" contest Sponsor: Regina McIntosh
