The Water
I used to hate the rain. Younger it brought nothing but being Uncomfortable in my skin So self conscious and small Every time it rained I opted to stay in. A heavy storm planted land mines I tiptoed around myself Trying to be hugged by a claustrophobic rainfall I pushed away the cleanse. How hard could it be to let the river take the fear? My brain is the ocean I was an apex predator But also my easiest prey And I didn't realize I couldn't swim Until I was already drowning. Submerged in rolling clouds and Harmonious ear candy The sky is crying I wish the rain was resin To encapsulate a collective core memory. A needed hydro therapy. Energy tsunami held my soul in it's eye Washed away imprisioning body pollution Sweet release of pre learned inhibitions I am the water I once loathed to be in.
