Tale of the 'Road Not Taken'
I was driving on the highway And I came by a detour; I went down it for some way And was caught by its allure. It looked much like the main road Although it was quite deserted; I looked for a safe abode But it felt quite inverted. Pausing to savour the contrast I played around with the bait; Letting it go at long last I decided to keep on straight. With one last look, I turned back Away from the charming side-show; And straight back to the main track Trying to go with the flow. Life is a circular pathway- And little did I know that; A few years on the highway I saw a new welcome mat. It was the same charming by-pass- Few memories came rushing; And though I had extra bags I was still slowly blushing. I went in, solo again Seeing it was more crowded; Memories playing on my brain I saw more people shrouded. The place was slowly trending I saw many a safe haven; It was now more than off-roading - Some people called it heaven. I met new people, made new friends It felt more homely than before; Like looking through a zoom lens - The picture clear, the details more. I don't want to alter my path I'm happy with the one I'm on; It felt like a nice bubble bath Just soak-in with a tired yawn. Now back to the road, as usual Pick up the pieces of my life; To continue on my travel - The endless circles of life. I now see beauty everywhere With no need for a detour; Nothing can anymore scare When your heart and mind feel secure.
