Enter Poem or Quote (Required)Required It is not long after midnight, the moon is full above, but clouds drifted in front of it, auguring weather rough. Snow has been falling some time now, fairly dry, light powder, there’s an inch on the ground so far, more within the hour. I see the glow from the moonlight hitting upon the snow, reflected back up until night has a silver-blue glow. A fine effect, mid-day luster, as Christmas poems say, even this late I see quite far, to neighbors down the way. The quietness adds to it all, makes it seem quite serene, if I could paint and capture this it would seem like a dream. Like something from a children’s book, nostalgic, soft and old, how is it night seems welcoming when outside it’s so cold? Off to the south, a reddish glow, from streetlights down in town, make it seem like some strange sunset, though the sun has gone down. Different from the moon’s effect, but unique in itself, magenta nights are something new as far as I can tell. The effect will not last that long, the snow will stop falling, and once it’s down the glow is gone, light is not reflecting. I’d stay up and watch more of this, but I need sleep tonight, at least tomorrow I’ll wake to the beauty of the white.
