Colonizers Why You Take Whats Not Yours My Spokenword
Colonizers WHY YOU TAKE WHATS NOT YOURS Man interest in other lands, peoples and territories and things What other people got they want it for themselves It’s there’s you know the rest Colonizers, it’s not mine it’s all yours Colonizers WHY YOU TAKE WHATS NOT YOURS Yet by the time I’m on/in your lands You gonna give to me Colonizers, what’s yours is mine what mine is mine I come in peace, And I where a sheet Pearly white, freedom blight It’s the new right To hold on tight Unto the night Beating the salvages blight It’s all right to enslave them we’re colonizers It’s all right to behave this way, colonizers Colonizers WHY YOU TAKE WHATS NOT YOURS They took an inch they took a yard They colonized without regard, Whilst they took they couldn’t see That human beings are they, and we. Colonizers WHY YOU TAKE WHATS NOT YOURS This is their lands this an error These savages are such a terror, Claiming this has been found Where we stand its scared ground. I freely take without your blessing blood is spilled What a lesson die you must all be killed, Truth is land is yours I have lied I take what I want I as your woman children cried. Colonizers WHY YOU TAKE WHATS NOT YOURS The Massacres were heartless cruel Colonizers enslave indigenous humans as fuel Rob and steal from the innocence Take the new founded darken people on slave ships Wasn’t luxury many died of disease? With muck and rations small to only tease. Colonizers so, they laugh Colonizers so, they scorn Still, hearing the cries of the slaves they ignore Colonizers WHY YOU TAKE WHATS NOT YOURS Still, they entangle, murder enslave wound and maim without remorse Too sinister colonizers they stay on course to know the source. Aborigines Africans fight cry out me back home I’m not of here Where has all the land gone nothing but ocean I peer? Entire tribe fear, And they shall learn to respect them there new masters Colonizers strange men of tan skins Just what more they are after? They shall learn to protect new captured beings shall not win... Colonizers WHY YOU TAKE WHATS NOT YOURS All of the men, women and children enslaved they wrecked. By shooting of rifles, whips, or swords few some jumped overboard many witnessed Man interest in other lands, peoples and territories and things What other people got they want it for themselves It’s there’s you know the rest Colonizers, it’s not mine it’s all yours Yet by the time I’m on/in your lands You gonna give to me Colonizers, what’s yours is mine what mine is mine I come in peace And I where a sheet Pearly white, freedom blight It’s the new right To hold on tight Unto the night Beating the salvages blight It’s all right to enslave them we’re colonizers It’s all right to behave this way, colonizers Colonizers WHY YOU TAKE WHATS NOT YOURS ~COLONIZERS??~ 11/15/22 Written words by James Edward Lee Sr. ©2022 based on Colonizers Poem Paris-Maree Boreham
