He Walked In Solitude
He walked in solitude along a stretch of shore Head bowed, listening to the incoming tide, Remembering the filmy silk cover-up she wore, That day when he could ask for nothing more, He’d asked for her hand in marriage with pride He walked in solitude along a stretch of shore. Now she had become part of his life’s lore, He recalled a seashell she collected as a bride Remembering the filmy silk cover-up she wore. Losing her wounded him in his innermost core He felt her loss intensely with each stride, He walked in solitude along a stretch of shore. For her to return to him, he would deeply implore While knowing it could not be, for she had died Remembering the filmy silk cover-up she wore. So, he searched in meditation for an elusive door Uniting their souls eternally, as they felt inside, He walked in solitude along a stretch of shore Remembering the filmy silk cover-up she wore.
