Suffer the Children
“Suffer the little children, to come unto me For such is the Kingdom of Heaven.” Jesus Christ Little feet, little souls leaving earth ascending innocence to heavenly realms. By vicious deeds just swept away. Who gives a damn what I say. In abandoned sorrow mothers moan the agony of losing a child as some others kill their very own forgetting them in hot cars a while. Thankfully malice consumes itself. Cheaper for the state. Why waste intellect in court, to determine a capital fate. Slaughtered during your restful nap upon your little mat. Suffer these murdered children God. Take the masses to your loving lap. Children of all creeds and colors, most vulnerable indeed. Left in lockers, thrown in lakes. Some killed before they breathe. Oh, the numbers of children rising death toll of each day. Killed in schools or in their homes. Who gives a damn what I say. In my heart I’m still a teacher. Children’s laughter, my first love. Abusers just don’t give a heck. Choose a millstone for their neck. “It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were thrown into the sea than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin.” Jesus Christ 10/7/2022 2022 Poetry Marathon Mile 16 Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Mark Toney
