Souls of the Damned
While driving on a moonless night, Guided by my blinded sight. There arose an ancient, mystical light, Deep within a quiet enclave. Spellbound, I ventured in, Oblivious to my mortal sin. A soft caress across my skin, Made me aware of a presence. Startled and taken by uncertainty, Fear soon got the best of me. While frozen to that reality, The shape of a man appeared. "I can grant you all you need, Inspired by your lust and greed." "But first, he said, you must concede, To my offer of eternity." Driven by my wanton desire, Reflected in his eyes of fire. I couldn't see the funeral pyre, That blazed from down below. The contract signed, the quill withdrew. One drop of blood made it true. Realizing too late, then I knew; And dropped to my knees. Restless spirits hovered around, As I cowered on the ground. The arrogance that once abound, Found no solace in my shame. Reappearing in a cloak of red, A fiery crown adorned his head. The last words that he said, Was, "Now take my hand." Paralyzed, I couldn't breathe; As the earth began to seethe. I spied sharp gazes from beneath, With feral and hungry eyes. Then the ground began to swell, Spilling forth the Hounds of Hell. And the very moment that I fell, They began feasting on me. So, when there's no one left to save; And you're ripped right from the grave. You'll know the streets of Hell are paved, With the Souls of the Damned.
